Join us for a week plus (8 days / 7 nights) of food and cultural immersion in Chiang Mai, Thailand in an incredible, private villa for the week. Our confirmed location is in a beautiful, tranquil area, on the river Ping and just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the city.  We can accommodate a maximum of 10 people for the week, which will include multiple cooking classes, with what is available locally and seasonally, as well as a unique variety of culinary and cultural excursions throughout the week.

Excursions will include local restaurant outings, from amazing street food to Michelin-recognized unique spots. Witnessing the sunrise over Chiang Mai from one of the temples is a life-changing event.

You will feel the energy from the chanting of the monks as well as a glimpse into the culture and history of the area. What an experience!
Opportunities to explore multiple local markets together for shopping for ingredients – wait until you see the Chiang Mai wholesale market!

A visit to one of the Hmong tribe's hilltop villages in the rainforest where they grow coffee and fruit is on our itinerary. Here you will meet local residents, taste their delicious coffee, and have a chance to see (and purchase) their artisan crafts.

Another highlight is our visit to an ethical elephant sanctuary where we will learn about, meet, and interact with these incredible animals. This is an experience of a lifetime - get ready to get wet!

We scout our locations and plan our trip in advance, so we see and select locations in person for each culinary trip. They are always wonderful, and Chris and I take great care in curating every aspect of the trip, while also leaving space for improvisation as needed for each group. This particular villa in Chiang Mai is one of the oldest and most historical in the area yet has all the modern amenities – it is absolutely perfect!

Our last evening together, we will enjoy discussing what we have learned, fallen in love with, and what we will take home from our experiences. Let’s enjoy our last taste of Oaxaca together with new friends and recipes!

We also encourage our participants to let us know if there are any particular Thai recipes they are interested in learning in advance, so that Chris may incorporate with his lineup.

Getting into Oaxaca / arrival to our location – closest and easiest is to fly into Oaxaca airport – I have found some flights through Dallas that are very reasonably priced.

You might plan to visit other areas of Mexico before or after your week with us while you are there. More information and assistance will be provided to guests confirmed for the program. We also are happy to suggest a couple options for a travel agent if anyone is interested.
