We welcome our students, friends and guests to join us for a week of (7 days / 6 nights) incredible food, fun and cultural immersion in one of the oldest civilizations and most beautiful cities that literally connects Europe with Asia.We have a wonderful location in the heart of old Istanbul from which we will explore the culinary and cultural scene of historic Istanbul.

Our location is in the old city in a very lovely guest inn and we have been given special privilege to utilize the kitchen there for our few cooking classes during the week. We chose this location so that we can see and do as much as possible but also for the proximity so there is guaranteed downtime as needed, rather than so much time needed in commuting in and out of the city.  While it was challenging to find the right location for our purposes, we feel very confident in this decision and location and know you will too!

Our professional tour guide, Ismer, will lead us on a guided tour to learn more about the history and culture of the area.  There is a lot to see from the Hagia Sofia to the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cisterns and so much more!

We can accommodate a maximum of 10 people for the week, which will include some cooking (with what is available locally and seasonally) as well as restaurants that we have curated in advance and multiple cultural outings, with spare time for relaxing, enjoying the beautiful city and exploring some of the area on your own, if you wish.

There are many other cultural attractions for those interested, and our exact plans for these will be determined once we confirm our guests and their interests (museums, shopping, additional sightseeing and tours, etc.

We also encourage our participants to let us know if there are any particular Turkish recipes they are interested in learning in advance so that Chris may incorporate with his lineup.  

Our last evening together, we will enjoy discussing what we have learned, fallen in love with and what we will take home from our experiences. Let’s enjoy our last taste of Turkey together with new friends and recipes!

Getting into Istanbul: Depending on your travel before or after the trip, you may be arriving either at the most common and bigger airport, Istanbul Airport (IST) on the European side, or the smaller one, Sabiha Gokcen Airport ( SAW) on the Asian side. Once you have your plans set, we can help coordinate getting you to our location, whether that be by taxi, uber, driver, etc. We chose a location so that you can see and do things on foot as well.
